Rockefeller Group has acquired two sites in Phoenix’s South Mountain corridor for the development of 152 build-to-rent townhomes. The sites cover a total of 16.5 acres and are fully entitled, with first occupancies projected for Q1 2025. Both developments will offer amenities such as pools, hot tubs, and dog parks, with construction set to begin in summer 2022.

The Prescott Valley Planning and Zoning Commission is considering two proposals that could bring 385 rental homes and a 90-room hotel to the community. Trilogy Investment Co. plans to build the Villas at Prescott Valley, a 385-unit rental community, while Matticus Hospitality Group is requesting a rezoning and preliminary development plan for a one-acre site to build a 90-room Homewood Suites Hotel. Planning staff have recommended approval for both proposals.

The Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene’s plan to develop an indoor sports complex and outdoor sports field has faced strong opposition from residents, leading to four years of arguments and revisions. The $10M-$12M expansion has undergone seven revisions to address concerns, but opponents still seek its cancellation or relocation. The Oro Valley Planning and Zoning Commission recommended denying the project’s rezoning request, with the matter expected to go before the Town Council in the fall.

A 122-room Everhome Suites Hotel, worth $6.7m, is planned for construction in Yuma at Pacific Avenue and 18th Street. The four-story hotel will include studio and one-bedroom suite floorplans, fully-equipped kitchens, and amenities such as a pool, fitness center, and laundry facilities.

The Maricopa Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended a rezoning request for the Kelly Ranch residential community, which will be considered by the City Council. The 100-acre site plans to develop 96 build-to-rent units and 240 single-family homes, with construction expected to begin in a year and take several years to complete.
